Re: 35 Rem Reloading Tips?

I just got my American Rifleman and was flipping through and saw that this morning! By the way, if any of you guys have any extra brass laying around, let me know what you would like for it.

PayPal for .35 Rem Brass

I am looking for some .35 Rem brass so I can start reloading. Let me know what/how much you have and how much you want for them. I am even willing to buy several small lots of brass, but looking for about 100 cases total. Thanks guys, hopefully y'all can help me out so I can finally get this 8 to th...

35 Rem Reloading Tips?

I have a 1926 Model 8 in .35 Rem that I would like to start reloading for. I just got the dies, but I have a few questions about bullets. My dad has a smelter and a bunch of extra lead. I was thinking about making my own bullets. Can the .357 moulds be used? What range of bullet weights (grains) can...

Re: Model 8 35 Rem Stripper Clip Alternative

Yeah, I'm not much of a hunter. I bought this more for an addition to my collection with the occasional range trip. I will probably just start reloading for it. Anyone have 35 Rem brass laying around they would part with at a good price?

Re: Model 8 35 Rem Stripper Clip Alternative

Yeah, I have seen a couple places with the Hornady stuff, but I just want some cheaper stuff to shoot. Hornady is good ammo, but is overpriced. Especially for what I need. I also have a Marlin 336C in 30-30. I'm debating on trading my 30-30 for a 35 Rem Marlin, but I want to get a good stock of ammo...

Re: Model 8 35 Rem Stripper Clip Alternative

Great! I just ordered 4 clips to use with my rifle! Does anyone know where to get 35 Rem ammo? I just want to get some 200 grain Core-Lokts. Everywhere I've seen is out of stock.

Model 8 35 Rem Stripper Clip Alternative

So, the original clips are too expensive to reasonably have for actual use. I have read online that the Argentine Mauser clips will actually work, but I have no personal experience with them. Can anyone confirm this? The 8 clips are $50+ and the Mauser clips are $1.50. Hopefully they do work!

Re: Finally Have My First Model 8!

Thanks guys. I have a project Model 8 that I have been piecing together. I think I will finish it out and give it to my dad for Father's Day. He is the one who got me interested in these rifles and now he's jealous that he doesn't have one.

Finally Have My First Model 8!

I have been looking for a Model 8 in 35 Rem at a reasonable price. I finally found one! I found it at a local gun shop and got it for $399 out the door! It's in good well used condition. The receiver and barrel jacket numbers match and it was made in November 1926 based on the jacket markings. It ha...

Re: Can you identify this Model 8 mount?

I'm 23, but my first car was a 1980 Trans Am project car with t-tops. My parents ended up making me sell the car. I just recently bought another 1980 t-top Trans Am that needs to be completely redone. I keep trying to work on it, but then I get side tracked with guns and doing stuff to my truck (07 ...

Re: Can you identify this Model 8 mount?

Really? I hope mine comes like that! I have had pretty good luck with Numrich. If you hunt really hard for vintage accessory type stuff they have really good deals. I bought four Cutts Compensator 12 gauge tubes on there for $9.97 each. They sell for $30+ each on eBay. Phyrbird huh? Are you a Pontia...

Re: Can you identify this Model 8 mount?

Numrich had one remaining for $17! I went ahead and bought it. If I don't like it, it's only $17 and I can always buy the plug screws later.

Re: Can you identify this Model 8 mount?

If it's for a peep sight, I might consider trying to find the correct sight, but mainly interested so I can figure out the thread size so I can buy a couple of filler screws.

Can you identify this Model 8 mount?

My model 8 has two holes drilled and tapped for either a scope or aftermarket iron sight. They are on the left side of the receiver towards the rear. They are at roughly 10 o'clock and spaced about an inch and a half apart. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is there a difference in barrel jackets between calibers?

I had read somewhere that the barrel jackets were different from the small to the larger calibers. Is this true? Thanks, Zak.

Looking For 35 Rem Barrel Sleeve and Complete Bolt Assembly

Does anyone have a 35 Rem barrel sleeve or complete bolt assembly for sale? I passed up a couple on Ebay a few weeks ago, and now that I want to buy one, I can't find one that isn't pitted or way overpriced. Thanks, Zak.

Are 30 Rem and 35 Rem Magazines Interchangeable?

I am piecing together a 35 Rem Model 8. I have a 30 Rem magazine. Will this magazine function properly with 35 Rem or will I have to find one specifically from a 35? Thanks, Zak.
