Values of Remington Model 8, Model 10, Model 12?

I have a 1930 Model 8 in 30 Remington, a 1913 Model 10 12 gauge pump (actually early enough that it is not roll marked a Model 10), and a 1917 Model 12-A pump rifle in .22 short-long-long rifle. All three have been well used and each has its own issues that likely keep them from being prime collecto...

Re: 30-30 to .32 Remington order of operations?

That should work fine. I would recommend checking case length some time after sizing. Also, annealing can be done at any point prior to loading but with old brass consider annealing first to reduce splitting when expanding the neck.

Re: Making .32 Remington Brass

It is on loan to a friend at the moment, but I'll try to find some pics soon. I just milled the correct profile based on the SAAMI drawings, ground some relief and then polished a bit. Easy Peasy. I have a non cutting edge to reference the base so that the chamfer and extraction groove are placed co...

Re: Making .32 Remington Brass

I use a 30-30 die as a collet. I ground a piece of HSS to cut the rim and extraction groove in one pass. I've even used a bench top wood lathe for this work when the other lathe is setup for something else. My steps: 1. Once fired or new 30-30 brass, de-prime and clean if needed. Stick in lathe and ...

Re: How to modify other cartridge cases to use in Model 8 &

Those instructions are straight from the Donnelly book. I have not tried making a 35 Remington case because I don't own a rifle that chambers it. If the quality of the parent case is in question, I would not use it. Aren't there some .303 Brit cases that have been made in recent decades? If so, thos...

How to modify other cartridge cases to use in Model 8 & 81.

Below is the information I have gathered in my efforts to build ammo for my Model 8. Some of the info was gleaned from the forums here, some of it from other sources. I hope you find it useful. I must point out that I have only done the work for .30 Remington and have not tried the methods for the o...

WTB 30 Rem brass or ammo

I have brought my grand-dad's model 8 out of the dungeon (safe) and checked it over after it sat for close to 30 years at my dad's place. I want to shoot it now, but I have no ammo and can't find much. I did get 40 rounds from Grafs today, but would like to load more. I do have both .308 & 30-30 die...
