Re: Rear sight

It's a Lyman. I looked in Stroebel's book "Old Gunsights" and it is listed as a No.41AT and last cataloged in 1943.

In my model 8 I shoot the same rcbs 120 with 17 grains of imr4198 for 1782 fps. It functions well and is accurate.

Re: I found the problem

MIwoods,
I checked my buffer spring on the .30. It looks like it may be the same as your original. It is a very tough spring. Those are the dimensions shown on the paper.

Re: Custom 8: Folding Operating Handle & Safety!

There is no hole for the safety lever either. Has the receiver been welded up? The new safety must block the trigger in a different way because there would be no safety rocker either. Very interesting.

Re: If you need me (forum administrator)

I can't find "service desk" at Remington Society. Does their website still work? I have been trying to join for at least a year now and never get the confirmation email. I can't find any way to contact someone for help and advice there. When I try to log in it says "The specified user...

Re: 30-30 to .32 Remington order of operations?

I chucked a .32 Special size die in the lathe and push fit the case into it with my thumb. That way the brass runs true for cutting the rim. When the cut is finished just slip a shellholder over the rim to remove the brass from the die. Sometimes a little help is required by inserting a screwdriver ...
