Thank you for confirming my thoughts and on this rifle.
I did share my concerns with the seller and suggested he visit the Great Model 8 site to view a F grade M8.
I got no response.

GB M8 F grade
Can someone with more knowledge them myself comment on the M8 F grade currently for sale on Gun Broker.
To me it appears to be a standard A grade with the checkered stock that was available from the Remington at the time with no engraving at all.

Re: Recommended ammo for .35 Model 8
Been hunting white tails in upstate NY since I was 11/12 years old with my dad and grandad. Always carried a M8 35 just like they did. 55 plus years. Back then Rem 200 and 220 grain were available, now only 150 or 180 grain can be found around my home if any at all. I contacted Remington a couple ye...

M81 300 Sav
There appears to be a pre model 8 on Gun Broker listed as a M81 300 Sav. A curious thing is that there are no side springs on either side of mag and no holes in mag on either side to locate the springs. We're there early M8s produced without the side spring. Recently purchased a very nice 1943 military riot 12 ga, matching #s plain receiver and furniture, 20" barrel with flat military finish. Not sure on this one as my tang sights are Marbles but I believe the lever on side is to lock sight in down position when not using. There is a flat on one side to hold with a wrench and two holes on other end for a snake eye spanner bit. I believe this is how you adjust tension on spring that puts ...

Possibly the little nub on the inside of the washer is not fitting tight enough in grove. If you had access to a tig or mig welder you could very easily put a little weld on it then file to fit. Mig or tig would do this without over heating washer. Looking at what little thread is damaged I think yo...

Extraction and ejection occurs when bolt is static and casing is out of the chamber when barrel returns to battery. There is...

Some times you have to work on the magazine a bit. Sounds like the round in the mag is pushed out before barrel has returned to battery and released the bolt carrier. Try gently bending the mag lips in a bit to hold round down. Make sure side springs are installed correctly also.

Make sure front screw on bottom tang is tight, this secures the main spring (hammer) and trigger spring. If loose the hammer will not have enough energy when striking firing pin.
Also does firing pin move freely in the bolt carrier and is not broken?

Check the link and make sure it installed in bolt with the rounded corner facing up so no possibility of it binding when bolt is all the way back. Also check magazine indicator as that is what keeps bolt open after last round is fired.

This one happens to be on a 1911 pre M8 in 30-30 Rem. Barrel jacket is typical 1902 patent. I have had this rifle for some time now and decided to check it out.

Had a similar thing happen with a M81 I bought. Some rounds fire some wouldn't.
