Re: 2013 Hunting Victories Thread

I've been out a few times this fall and in September I hunted with a group of other disabled veterans in South Carolina and cleaned up with a nice 6 point buck, a mature doe & 3 hogs...all trophies. One was straight up Russian boar and another looked like it escaped farmer Brown's during the sum...

Re: Additions to collection and another visit with Matt

As with the last time, I had a blast with Joe & Reid when they visited me a few days ago. They stopped by more towards the evening and we spent the first hour in my home catching up and doing some show-and-tell on my end. The weather was deceptive as even though it was about 2 hours before dark ...

WTS Remington Model 8 "D" Grade w/Ammo & Reloading Supplies

With a very heavy heart I will be parting with my 1908 vintage pre-Model 8 Remington Self Loading Rifle "D" grade factory engraved rifle complete with 75rds of Federal 200gr RNSP factory ammo, 23rds of Hornady 200gr FTX LeverRevolution factory ammo, 40 once fired cases, about 275pcs 180gr....

Joe, believe me I've gotten a lot of encouragement from the folks here to take her afield and I did work up a sweetheart 180gr. load that is an absolute pussycat. Also there is another thread when I was visited by a forum member & his son-in-law not too long ago and we took her to the range. His...

I'm really digging that pistol gripped stock...I really wish that my Model 8 had one. I love my rifle, but I just don't like how my hand is positioned with the straight stock in the firing position. I absolutely love your rifle and wish she was mine so you can say that I'm very green with envy.

Re: GOT A MINT IN BOX FN TODAY

I used to have one of the Tacticals about 2 years ago that I got in a trade for an HK45 that I had. I loved my HK, but I didn't like being limited to only 10 rounds. I liked that the FN has the 15 rounders, came with factory high profile night sights, threaded barrel and machined slide for a RMR. I ...

Holy crap that was quick!!! It was put up just last night and she's gone already??? I don't know who bought it, but she was a 98%+ condition with the rounded pistol grip stock and the wood had very nice figuring. Price was 5495.00 and I was wondering if that was a fair price for a "D" grad...

"D" Grade .25 Remington @ Collector's Firearms

I check Collector's "new arrivals" page every day (I don't really know why I torture myself with things I can never afford...) and last night I saw that they have a mint "D" grade Model 8 in .25 Remington. She's a bit steep, but is that somewhat reasonable for an example that fin...

Sweet Model 8 and you did an awesome job on the Model 11. I think you got such a great deal is that more than likely the person you got the rifle from just couldn't find any ammo for quite some time and decided to move it for something that they could shoot. You might want to ask if they have ANY am...

I just need some more trigger time to get the bench technique down for this old girl...if that doesn't pan out then I'll take a harder look at the slip on pad. I don't think I'll be attempting shooting lefty any time soon and also the ejection isn't an issue as the brass pretty much dribbles out of ...

This is my first experience with the 35 Remington round so I really didn't know what to expect...but I know that anything throwing a 200gr projectile 2000+ fps will dish out some punishment. I owned an older Ruger 44 Carbine and the recoil was likened to a 20 gauge shotgun and also felt more punishi...

Doing alright works for me. I figured about the recoil pad but what about the checkering?
