I think you are right on with removing the butt stock and trigger plate. The live shells should remain in the magazine when you remove the trigger plate and magazine. Should be really low risk of danger. That is what I am thinking, which is why I measured the barrel to be sure. I can't conceive of ...

.35 Remington: Failure to unlock or extract.

Howdy. I took my Model 8 to the range yesterday. The rifle was clean and looked to be in great condition. Cycling it w/o shells worked great. So I checked the barrel, it looked fine. At the range, I loaded up a clip of 5 Hornady FTX loads. It shot all 5 well, but I was having trouble verifying point...

Model 8 owner

Howdy. I just picked up a Model 8 in .35 Remington. 1916 manufacture (35xxx serial range).

I have some issues, but have been using this board as a good source of research for a while.
