Re: My new Remington Model 141.

I bought a 32 141 at a auction some years ago, and I done nothing with it until I found ammo. What a shooter at 100 yards, on a bench, with open sight. 3 rounds in a 1 inch group... I was impressed... Im in love with the old 1941 gun It's almost nice of shape to take in the woods. Its almost perfec...

My new Remington Model 141.

I recently purchased this Remington 141 in .35Remington cal. The date code on the barrel indicates June 1946 for mf. This gives me 3 Model 8's, and this model 141. I have a question for anyone; this rifle has a Williams scope mount, which requires the scope rings to have screw post mounts. Doe anyon...

Re: Are these sights correct? (Rear sights)

Thanks 81police. I could not find them or the front sight in John Henwood's The Great Remington 8 book, but thought I would ask anyway.

Are these sights correct? (Rear sights)

The sights on my 1928 Model 8 are pictured below. The rear sight is a Marbles. The sight will fold, and the white diamond can adjust up and down. The front sight is a red dot ramp sight with out and markings. It looks like there is supposed to be a hood over the sight, but it is missing. Any thought...

Re: pics of my model 8's

Phyrbird $99.00 is a little much right now. I will watch the bidding, and may have to try for it anyway. If so, I'll let you know. There are some gun shows coming up here in Dallas real soon, maybe I"ll find a mod 8 which is only good for parts. If so, we can probably deal for what you need. We...

Re: pics of my model 8's

Rob, How much for the safety parts. I took the but stock off and could see the safety rocker move inside the receiver. I tried tightening the screw, and that more or less worked, until I moved the safety down (off) then up (on) where it became loose again. All parts work, but it will not stay on saf...

pics of my model 8's

Here are pics of my three model 8's Top 1906, Middle 1928, Bottom 1929. The 1928 model 8 has a bad safty, it will drop off of safe if the gun is bumped. Other than that, it looks pretty good. The 1929 model 8 has some rust, like someone with sweaty hands held it and did not wipe the gun down.

Re: Barrel tools (ammo)

I ordered my ammo online from Cabelas.com It's on backorder, but at least I will get some (100 rounds). There on-line price is $28.99 per box of 20, which is about the same as local prices. I had bought some from Bass Pro Shop in this area, but I thing they are out now. The ammo is made by Remington....

Re: Just joined

I shoot at TargetMasters indoors, and Garland Public Shooting Range when outside, and weather permits. I haven't checked on shooting my Model 8s at TargetMasters yet, but since I can shoot my Winchester 30-30 there, it should be OK. I'll find out. I will be shooting factory .35Remington ammo. I'm no...

Hi to all Remington Model 8 owners. I recently purchased 2 Model 8's and am trying for number 3 here in the Dallas, Texas area. Model 8 number 1 is a 1906 16XX serial. The model is in good condition with no rust but has some scratches. The butt stock is cracked from the receiver to the tang bolt, ab...
