Re: 1939 Remington Model 81 (35 Remington)

I own two Model 8's (.35 rem), I don't know about pricing, but your Model 81 is in pristine condition. I think you got one heck of a deal on a great rifle.

Re: 2019 Michigan Rifle Season

Thanks Fred. It was much thicker than the background. He was 30-31 yards away, facing me in a low depression. The head/neck was the only thing I could see and sight in on. I had no time to think and I was probably lucky, one inch below eye, and yes, no meat was wasted. I was using a 35 Remington exp...

2019 Michigan Rifle Season

This 4 1/2 year old 10 pt buck was taken on State land in Roscommon County on the 5th day of the season at 4:00 p.m. with my Grandpa's .35 rem model 8. My Grandpa first began using this rifle in the mid 1930's, and I have been using it since 1974.

Re: Model 8 takes yet another Whitetail!

Congrats on a successful hunt, and thanks for keeping the tradition alive! No finer hunting rifle than the rem .35 model 8/81.

Distinctive Sound

41st year in the field with my grandpa's model 8. Unfortunately, i have not seen a buck to sight it in on through the peep sight. My Dad's model 8 stayed home, since he has not been able to hunt for the past 10 years. Oh, how I miss that distinctive "roar" of his rifle in the woods, I coul...

Carrying on the Traditon

Continuing the tradition my Dad and Grandpa started before WWII. My dad bought a model 8 rem before entering WWII in 1944, and then upon my dad's return my Grandpa bought one also. I have been carrying my Grandpa's model 8 in the field deer hunting in northern Michigan for the past 38 years. My fath...
