I have an FBI barreled assembly with front sight (no rear sight provisions) for the early model. Bluing is 90% with some freckles, not too bad about 15% coverage, barrel excellent except for a one inch spot where something was left behind and collect moisture.

I have taken at least 10 completely apart and if you don't have the CBR tool, i agree that the machinist ruler of the correct thickness (.075-.078) and an adjustable wrench is the way to go. You need to comission a tool like this because your tabs will break when trying to loosen a stubborn BJB. I use a machinist square ruler of the correct thickness with a large adjustable wrench in place of the tool shown because it is not available

I need the tang screw that holds the stock on. Someone on this site posted a company that makes new reproductions and at the time I was sure there would be one on ebay but two months later, no luck. For now I will put a repro on until I find one in near perfect condition

My follower came out of the magazine well like a Jack in a box and I do not know how to orient the spring to get it back together right the first time. I was surprised to see how it was put together with riveted segmented pieces.

the picture (#10) you removed was taken from above showing the receiver and only the tapered riser of the stock just behind the upper tang, from that angle it appeared to be a crack. Nice 8 with better pictures.

My way of preventing a front sight block breakage while drifting is taking a spring loaded clothespin, gluing it, straighten the angle on the inside to fit between the jacket and the sight as well as reducing the height so the jacket sits flat on a table.

a friend was telling me what I am calling the head is a barrel extension. in the parts list only the barrel is numbered(29) however it is two pieces because both pieces have marks that align like a barrel and a receiver on a lot of rifles. has anyone ever taken one apart

Not knowing anything about the FN, is it all factory original and is it too much to pay for one, however jack1653 hung in until 5,000.00 so it must not be too high
