Re: New member from Oregon

I have a sister that lives in Roseburg. She is Dr. Polly Sepulvado. Her daughter is an ER doc at one of the hospitals. She is Jennifer Bodenhamer. My wife and I spent a week there and around Oregon in 2009. Crater Lake is awesome.

Re: Very early 30-30 Rem-Did I pay too much?

I finally received it today. It is serial number 2745 in extremely good condition and very tight. I had trouble just doing a take down and operating the safety. It is very tight. Bore is perfect. Almost no wear on the magazine follower which would indicate loaded very few times. Butt plate seems to ...

Very early 30-30 Rem-Did I pay too much?

Check this one out. I have not received it yet, but seems to be in exceptional condition for a rifle that is 111 years old. First type magazine, first type safety lever, correct original butt plate, serial number 2745, one of the first year rifles for 30 Rem-early 1907. I may post pictures once I ge...

Confused on this one.

Check out GunBroker auction httpsI ://www.gunbroker.com/item/741305605 It seems very strange that a rifle manufactured in 1920 would have had a hand engraved caliber on the barrel jacket head of 30-30 Rem(1907 vintage). As you can see, the serial number matches the receiver number and the barrel ext...

If you are referring to the barrel nut. Try to find a Winchoke wrench from Ebay or other source. It is a spanner wrench designed for the early Winchester shotgun chokes, but works great on the model 8/81 barrel nuts. Not the stoutest, but works unless the barrel nut is rusted in or over tightened. L...

Jacket head over stamped with 32 Rem? This rifle should not even have a jacket head stamp or engraved caliber on the jacket head. That was done away with about 1907. This rifle was manufactured and shipped in 1920. What say you Cam?
