Yes, R 6 is the correct Marbles for the M-8. Should have sold for about $4 back in the day... might go for a bit more then that now.

Sorry for the misconception... got 8s and 81s but no mintys anymore, just good user/shooters.
I'd agree that mint or special goes for a premium, this one just didn't seem like that to me but... as we get more eyes on it, more pixs, and info... maybe?

Yup, you guys are confirming what I was seeing (or not seeing) - no kreiger, no upgrades,... sumpt'n miss'n for sure. As much as I'd like to believe his price, think he'll be keeping it for a long while or lowering the price significantly, but.... We'll be watching.

Ah.... No pictures? Didn't happen. ;) .5 like. :lol: Was told when I first got into old guns (by a much older gunny) that scope ring screws, take down screws, sling screws, etc. were specifically designed to be removed by coins. (Apparently they didn't have the big SUVs, trucks, ATVs, etc. to carry ...

Sounds like you move to SoCA... heard more stories about FFLs like that down there then everywhere else put together! You seriously need to find a gun-customer friendly FFL, several places on line to check for other FFLs in your area - many of them likely working out of there garage. Like Sarge I go...

When needing a threaded fix for one of these fine ole girls, several of us have contacted Joe Hulett at http://www.aperturesnmore.com/ - if he doesn't have the screw you need on hand, I believe he has the length and thread count to make it for you.

IMHO you are on the right track... First make sure it functions and shoot it. Then, refinish, etc. as you like - it will never be a true collector item but a real fine, fun shooter - probably exactly what you bought it for. Enjoy.

I've taken down several 25, 30, 32s - over a variety of manufacture dates - all had almost identical spring dimensions. "One I have here has 13 coils, and is quite soft. I can fully compress it between my fingers." Can't imagine anyone manual compression the recoil spring, we must be talki...
