Re: good reading

Tried to post a pic of the book cover but it just isn’t going to happen. Shows V.E. Lynch shooting his model 8 using his pack basket as a rest, also has a bobcat. Cool pic the name of the book is they called him “Wildcat”

good reading

read this book many years ago but couldn't find my copy of it. I think it fell apart and i threw it away. Recently found a copy on Ebay. It is a true story of a Maine guide V.E. Lynch. He used a .25 Remington to shoot bear deer and bobcat in Northern Maine!

Tang sight Trouble

Recently installed a lyman tang sight on my model 8 in .35 Rem. It shoots about 6" to the right @ 100yd. everything seems tight and 6" is too far off to drift the front sight over without it being too far out of the dovetail slot. looks like I may have to put the standard iron sights back ...

This target was shot during the sighting in process with a lyman #41 I recently purchased. The group size is what I was most happy with!

Range Day .25-.35 Remington

Finally found some ammo for my pre model 8 Remington Autoloader. What a joy to shoot very little recoil and it seemed quieter so you could really hear the action working. the accuracy was excellent for a 106yr old firearm!

Found the Lyman 41R sight I was looking for now I need some mounting screws! I believe they are a #5 screw with 48 tpi. Checked Brownels and others with no luck. If anyone has some they can sell me or know where I can buy some that would be great!

Re: Lyman #41R

my gun is in better than average shape it is a #3 grade in .25 Rem. Does anyone know the correct screw size for this sight and where you might have them made? Also is there an additional plate that goes between the sight and receiver of the #41 lyman sight?

rear flip sight screws

I need 2 rear sight screws for my model 8 with a rear flip sight, the heads on the regular sight screws are too large so they don't work well, I need screws with a head size of .250!

It is a 30 rem that was made in December of 1928! I cleaned it well, it has a nice shinny barrel and seems to function corectly. I have shot it once and it fired and loaded the next shell in properly but I did notice the the next shell it loaded into the chamber had a light dimple in the primer ware...
