Round knob m8 in 35 Remington

Hey guys, I don’t know how many of you saw the Gunbroker auction for this rifle. It ended Wednesday I think. It looked pretty nice at first glance, and it may be fine once in hand. I looked at it on the first day and thought it looked a little too good.I’m always suspicious of any gun that is almost...

Re: 8 or 81? Including Pictures

Sir, I’m on the gun auction sites every day. The 35 caliber is the most desirable caliber now days. The values are keeping up with the 25 calibers and even exceeding them. But,there appears to be no rime or reason for these auction sites. Ammunition availability appears to be driving this, but with t...

Re: Model 8 Advice

I have to agree. I’ve hunted deer in every caliber of M8s and M81s. The only time recoil was any problem for me, was testing hand loads at the bench in the rest of the year. When a deer is in your sights, running or standing, you don’t notice any recoil.

Sir, I also have used the ftx bullets to reload for 35 Remington. Also used the Hornady factory ammunition. They all worked well in my m8/81s,several different ones. I’d definitely recommend it for deer hunting. It kills them right now.

Sir, Be sure to look at the juncture between the barrel jacket extension and the barrel jacket. If it’s been repaired incorrectly, that may be your problem. Look for signs of welding/ braising, or soldering. This was sometimes done by people who didn’t know what else to do.
