Why not use Graf's .30 Remington brass.
The Hornady bullets are too long for the Model 14 but work just fine in the Model 8.
The Speer bullet will work.

Quite a few years ago we had some property in north central Florida and had an informal shooting range set up.
I shot a group of 4 shots almost touching and one flyer not too far off with dad's old model 8-C in .35 Remington.
Factory ammo as I didn't load the .35 back then.

If this "E" Grade is in good condition I think that the bolt is glued in place from dried up solvent, which turns into something similar to dried shellac. The only thin locking the bolt is the safety/rocker and if that moves the bolt should retract. I'd take the barrel assembly off and spr...

What I'd probably do is try a little heat with a butane lighter. Soaking it is also a good idea.
Old bore cleaner dried up hard like shellac, and you're right most of these rifles have never been disassembled.
You should already have or you can remove the firing pin.

There is one issue that makes these guns erratic. Open the bolt and look inside, if you see the magazine indicator spring on top of the bolt guides that's the problem.
When reassembling these gun that spring fits into a small slot and has a tendency to slip out when assembling.

You could make a Scout type rifle with these. If you took and extra rear sight attaching plate and mounted it in front of the rear sight it might be possible to mount a scope in front of the receiver Scout Rifle or Shotgun style.
