Re: JMB lever action Winchester 92 question

Read your post on the Winchesterr 1892 model.. I'm no expert but I do own a '92 manufactured in 1894. Purchased from family of original owner, I realy love it. With regard to age / vntage, no real way to tell without serial number. If you can obtain serial send off a request to Cody Firearms Museum ...

Mr Lee, Saw your post and thought to send you a quick note. Your search for a .357 / 38 SPL revolver struck a bell with me. You mention "tactiCool" hand guns, not sure if I follow you on that term. Anyway thought i 'd pass this along for what its worth. I'm not an expert by any means, not ...

Re: Top and bottom butt plate tangs

It's likely non-factory. But you never know. I checked my Remington 8 "Bible" by Henwood. During this period 1909 they did not have a metal butt plate. They used a hard rubber butt plate up through about 1920 or so. Beginning around 1910 there were steel butt plates with bottom tangs. Thro...

nice model 8 in 35 cal on gun runner.com

Was just looking at the current auction on gunrunner.com. There a pretty nice moder 8 up for grabs.
MFG in 1929. I'm no expert but worth a look. No dog in this fight, I'm broke or I'd go for it.
From today 13 Aug, auction has one day plus ten hours closing on 14th. Hope someone here can get it!

The first of my two model 8's in 35 cal. is 1908 year of manufacture. I often think of what that year means in a historical sense. The family I got the rifle from had owned it since 1938 so there were some stories to be learned prior to my gaining it in 2011. The rifle I most admire from a historica...
