Boy, was I wrong about getting a deal. In case anyone missed the auction, it went for $7025.00.

Re: 81 police on GB

It's at $4500 with 11 hours to go. Maybe someone will be able to pick one up at a $500 discount. I hope it's a member of the forum.

Re: Tang site and stripper clip

I have a Lyman AT for sale. It has both apertures, but is missing the screw. I'm asking $150 + shipping. I'm not a collector of tang sights, so if the price is out of line, please let me know. Here is a pic:

Re: POE Model 8 on GB

Cam, I couldn't believe the price the magazine went for. (It sounds strange to say that $4400 is a "deal"). That gun was super clean. Most interesting to me was that the listing indicated the rifle belonged to a local Police Agency. I'd like to see if the PD had any photos or documentation of the gu...

POE Model 8 on GB

I saw what appeared to be an authentic POE Model 8 on a recent GB auction. Funny, but I actually toyed with the idea of dropping the $3995 starting bid (then I quickly snapped back to reality). The gun ended up going for $4400, and I wondered if any forum member was the winning bidder. If so, please...

Yet Another 81 Police Rifle on GB!

Holy cow! You spend years looking to find one of these elusive rifles, and within a week, TWO pop up. Being a Trooper myself, I find the KY Highway Patrol inscription appealing (Cam: Ever see one with those markings?). Unfortunately, the condition is not as nice as mine, or I would definately be loo...

81 Special Police at Allentown PA Gun Show.

I've been going to the Allentown Show for many years. They've always had some pretty cool stuff, and this time was no exception. On one of the tables was an 81 Police. It was all correct, along with a matching magazine. It was at least 90%; a real nice gun. It was marked property of Putnam County NY...

Located another 81 Special Police...BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

I recently acquired an 81 Special Police owned by the LA Sheriffs Dept. Two weeks ago, I was talking to a gentleman about police rifles, and stated I had an 81 Special owned by the LA Sheriff. He stated he ALSO had an 81 owned by the LA Sheriff. Here's the cool part - his S/N is only a few away from...

Re: 9 members to go.....

I think I may have a potential finalist if you have a "Most Tapped Receiver". My Model 8 has a total of 10 additional tapped holes on the receiver. I guess whoever owned it wanted to make sure it was compatible with any scope mount ever made!
